I have a netscape email account and I received a rather strange email the other day. The return address was ""Companionways K. Nona" <unthinkable@aa.net>". The subject was "shuddered", and the only text in the email was, "antediluvian." The strangest thing was when I clicked reply, the quoted text from what was written in email changed from "antediluvian" to "monitors". Anyone see any meaning to this or know how this can be done?
Is it a virus?

It's spam...that's all. Sometimes the spambots misfire and make stuff that doesn't actually have the spam message in it.

What's a bit weird is that the text changed. Explanation?

All I can guess is that it was HTML-based. Dunno, though.

Just cuz the changing text on reply thing sounds kinda interesting, try getting the raw source of the message. In Mail, you do this by View -> Message -> Raw Source. It should show you if there is any script or HTML code that would explain the change....Post it. Now I'm curious. ;)
