Any recommendations? Are there any sleeve type cases that have a slot for the charger? Thanks.

I have yet to see anything that allows for the charger. But here is what I went with, they also have one that not leather and about $20 cheaper.

Do they have any plans for a 11" version?

I'm pretty sure a manila envelope would work :D but I would rock an invisishield or something like it, had one on my 15 inch UBMBP and boy did it save it from various scratches and even some minor dings.

I just got the Macvelope, it's pretty cool. People think its just mail inside, so you can feel a little better if you forget it in your car.

I wish they made different colors of the Macvelope and I would buy one. Say maybe a light grey like some envelopes I currently use.

I got the Macvelope as well. Looks neat, but the fit is a little too tight. It's kinda bitch to take your Air in and out. Also, the padding is rather minimal, so no way it would give too much protection.

But hey, for 20 bucks you can't go wrong..

really..what's your location?

i went to my closest one in sacramento CA and they didn't have this. I really like this and chocolate color is perfect. I found one in amazon and the 3rd vendor is selling it for overprice of $50.

I bought a 13.3 inch neoprene case at Target that is very similar to the Incase one except it's $20 cheaper. It's zippered and has a tiny zippered side pocket that will hold the charger perfectly but still very flat when you're not using it. I tried finding the exact one on their website or elsewhere with no luck. It is in store though so if you're by there take a look.

The brand name was Tuari and they have two types, one basic neoprene sleeve with zipper for $10 on sale(3 colors, black, pink, blue) and the one I bought with the extra pocket $19.99, same three colors.

I've been using this bag for iPad for months and it will also fit the 11". it's a fantastic bag:

http://www.tombihn.com/page/001/PROD/300/TB0222

The larger Tom Bihn Ristretto will fit the 13". If I keep the 13" (thinking about the 11") I will definitely be getting this bag.

I feel exactly the same way. Too tight and the scratchy velcro should not be on the flap, it'll scratch the MBA if you are not careful. It was a fun purchase, not for serious protection. I will probably use it if I want to put my Air in another bag.

Yes, wrapsol. My order is coming in the mail today. I have it on the back of my iPhone 4 and like it a lot. Matte texture. Should be very invisible. Wrapsol is the only company that I know of who makes non-glossy wraps.

Are you sure the 11.6" Air will fit in the Ristretto for iPad?? Their site says the interior dimensions of the padded section are 10.9"x7.6"x1" and the 11" Air's dimensions are 11.8"x7.6"x0.7".

So it looks like the 11" Air is about an inch too long to fit. If you have the 11" can you take a photo of it in the Ristretto?

Thanks

I'm looking for a portfolio style case that allows opening the case and using the MBA11 without having to remove the MBA. Sena has some cases, Leatherskin and ZipBook that look like they'd work (assuming they are for the MBA11) but boy are they expensive, at US$150 and US$180 respectively. I've asked them if these cases will work with the new MBAs.

I just bought a Marware Sportfolio Deluxe case for the MBA (http://www.marware.com/s.nl/category./.f?search=Sportfolio+Deluxe%25u2122+for+Macbook+Air). It is extremely well made and has a fitted sleeve for the MBA, a fitted nylon pocket for the Superdrive, and another pocket for the AC adapter. The bag is so small and lightweight that with both the MBA and the AC adapter in the bag it weighs only 5 pounds. Finally, it is on sale for $49.99. Highly recommended.

Well my case just came a while ago and have one major problem.
MBA fit perfect with a nice snug fit. Problem is this, after MBA has been in the sleeve for about an hour I cannot remove my MBA from the sleeve. Its like there was some glue used to put it together seeped on to the MBA and is keeping it in. Going to call Incipio in a short while. Not a very happy person at this moment...

To each his own, indeed. Apparently you didn't read the link very carefully. Mareware's own description of the product in the linked page is "A sleek, sporty case . . ." [Emphasis added.] But it's certainly your right to disagree with both the manufacturer and me.

After using several different sleeves my fave is the one from waterfield designs. They offer both vertical and horizontal layouts, d rings for a strap, and their sleeve and piggy back combo is perfect for trips to the library, coffee shop, interoffice meetings, or working lunches.

While there are many good sleeves out there, the one thing i would recommend is getting a sleeve that fits the layout of your bag. You should be able to remove your laptop from your sleeve w/out having to take the sleeve out of your bag. It's not a big deal but a convenience you'll appreciate.

I tried finding the answer, what exactly is the difference between the classic and ultra?

Classic is the same as InvisibleShield, you need a solution to apply. Ultra doesn't require a solution, it's like a stick-on. I prefer the Classic since you aren't left with tons of air bubbles and stuff like that, and you can re-adjust it if you make a mistake in the application procedure.

P.S. InvisibleShield sucks. Wrapsol gives you a matte finish that's almost invisible. I'll post pics when I receive mine.

Thanks

It does fit in the padded section though the top flap doesn't completely fold down over it. It buckles as well cleanly though it isn't as snug as when an iPad is in it. If you put it in the section in front of the padded one, it fits fine so technically you could carry both the MBA and the iPad (though why would you).

For now I'm going to use it as is. Would be silly for me to get the non-iPad version for the "perfect fit". If I can remember to do so I'll post pics later.

STM Jacket in small. It comes in black with green accents or brown with orange accents. Has a padded main compartment that fits the 13in perfectly and also has a zippered pocket to hold the power adapter and a non-zipped pocket (not sure if I'd really trust it) for your phone. It also has a pocket on the back that will work if you carry the bag horizontal with the included strap - otherwise there is a handle to carry it vertically.

Its small enough that I use it as my every day bag and when I need to carry more gear like my camera, external drives, etc... I just stick it into a regular messenger bag. Got it online for like $25 shipped.

Hi All -

Just order PDair case for my new macbook air 11.6. I will do a review once it arrives (should next 3 - 5 days).

Looks ideal - check out their website.

Bought the STM Glove for MacBook & MacBook Pro 13'" Sleeve from the local Microcenter. It fits well even though it is for the thicker MBs. STM has a specific one for the MBA (glove Small Macbook Air (http://www.stmbags.com/catalog/neoprene-sleeves/glove-small-macbook-air/)). I like it because it has a lip that goes over the MBA so that the zipper doesn't scratch it.

Could anyone with the Incipio Non-Leather version post his/her impressions? On the website of incipio, the sleeve looks very very loose.

The leather version on the other hand looks very nice and tight (as if it would have been made for this laptop).

I have an Incipio IM-100 sleeve for the 13 inch MBA (http://www.myincipio.com/MacBook-Air-Cases-Accessories/Incipio-MacBook-Air-13in-ORION-Slim-Sleeve-Case.asp). Until today, I had thought it was made of leather but just learned that it is made of polyurethane with a microfiber lining. It fits my MBA like a glove and is so thin and light, I put the MBA in it before putting both in the sleeve in my Marware case for the MBA. (http://www.marware.com/products/MacBookAir/Sportfolio-Deluxe-Black-for-Macbook-Air) I really like my Incipio sleeve, and the price listed for it on the Incipio site is less than $20, which is less than half what I paid for mine. Highly recommended!

Then I guess the higher price for leather is not really worth it?

The Marware bag is great, you won't regret getting one. It is nearly identical to my old Brenthaven bag, which I bought 8 years ago for a 17 inch Powerbook G4 and continued to use with a 17 inch MBP, which replaced the Powerbook. In some ways, the Marware bag is even better designed than the Brenthaven bag. It has fitted pockets for the AC adapter, an iPhone or iPod Touch, and a Superdrive. The best part is that even filled with the MBA and its peripherals, the Marware bag weighs considerably less than the MBP's 6.8 pounds.

I just received my Waterfield sleevecase for for 11 MBA. I'm more than thrilled with it. Fits the Air perfectly and is built very well.

Its costly once you add up the strap and piggyback, I also opted for leather trim, but being that this is the only case I will get for my Air I found it to be very worth it.

If I take the handle off, I can carry this around much the same way that I carried around my iPad while in its Apple case, and even though I sold that if I ever do get another one there is a sleeve on the outside that would fit the iPad perfectly.

Love this case.

Here's a really cheap sleeve option for the 13" air. I have the new 13" Air and got this sleeve from Meritline for $4.75 with free shipping: http://www.meritline.com/laptop-reversible-sleeve---p-36663.aspx

It is reversible, black & red and fits snugly around the 13" Air. It takes long to ship from China. Also, it needs to be aired out when you first get it to get rid of the smell. After that it is fine and the least expensive option I could think of.

Hi everybody, just want to tell you how happy I am with the Zagg invisible shield on my 13" macbook air. It looks great and, contrary to what I have been reading, the bottom cover has holes for the screws. So you can take the bottom cover off without removing the shield. The shield gives my mac a little bit of a shiny look which I just love.

I think I will be getting a sleeve just for a little bit of extra bump protection.

Which one looks better? White or Black?

That's entirely subjective.. I personally think the white looks a lot better because it melds with the silver color better. Plus, it really accentuates the illuminated Apple logo on the front.

I didn't like the black one because it provides way too much contrast, and I think it makes the Air look 'off' at first glance.

Definitely prefer White, but I think most people prefer Black.

Depends on your taste. One is not inherently better than the other.

I originally had a bodyguardz film on my air but it was replaced due to a hardware defect (the computer, not the skin, obviously). When I had my first Air, I had purchased the suede sleeve from sfbags.com.

Since I got my new air, I never really used it because it doesn't really protect the computer from drops since it's so thin.

So, in essence, the carbon skin is good at protecting the computer from scratches, but it obviously isn't enough for hard hitting impacts.

Hey Guys!

I just bought my brand new Air 13" and after spent long time reading your comments about sleeves I cannot belive that none of you said anything about a really protective sleeve.

If there's one thing that worries me about my air is their fragility, so I'm searching the most protective case/sleeve possible.

I found a brand called be.ze that produces a Larobe model (here you've got the link: http://www.be-ez.com/la-robe-air-chic-marine.html

They say it uses an special material which is trully better than simple neopren. What do you think? Has anybody this sleeve? Anybody knows a better sleve? I don´t care if it's fashionable, just care about the protection 'cause I will carry my air+sleeve always in a bag.

Cheers!

The bag you are considering is similar to the bag my grandson got for his 13 inch MBP. Both are made of soft polyurethane and appear to provide good protection for their contents. The only difference I noticed, was that my grandson's bag zips at the side rather than the top. I don't recall what brand his bag is but he uses his heavily and likes it a lot. Thus, it seems to me that the bag you are considering would likely be a good choice.

well i got my macvelope and yes it fits perfect in a 15.4" messenger bag. i dont know where these users are getting that the Velcro might scratch it. the rough side is on the front of the sleeve, soft part is on the flap.

i love this sleeve, looks neat and enough padding to protect it from a drop. the MBA is also easy to get in and out of the sleeve, again i have no idea where users say its a tight fit. The fit is perfect IMO, easy to get the MBA out and slip in.

the material is great, it is a well produced sleeve if you ask me. I bought the sleeve from amazon it is on sale for $21

i would recommend this sleeve to everyone.
