Hey guys - I recently bought a G5, and have used my iBook less and less over time, so I figure now's a good time to cut loose and maybe buy a 2nd monitor for my G5 or something.

Anyhow, here are the specs for the iBook:

800mhz G4 Processor
12" Screen
Combo Drive
Airport Express Card installed
640mb RAM
60GB Hard drive
OS 10.3 installed

I figured I'd try to take advantage of the iBook logic board replacement program while it was still active, and I actually was able to get the entire unit (sans case/screen/HDD) replaced for free. So, the logic board is brand new.

Comes with all original packaging, CDs, etc. The ONLY cosmetic flaw is the lack of a 'foot' on the bottom (see photo) which I am going to get replaced @ the apple store before I send this unit to anyone.

I think that 850 shipped is a fair price for this unit, but I am willing to accept offers lower than this. I spent some time looking @ ebay and around here, and that's the number I came to. If you can show me they're going for less than that, bring it on

PM me or send me an email to wtmcgee@gmail.com and we'll see what we can do.

Are you sure this isn't a G3 iBook?

Your pictures are loading very slowly I havent been able to see one yet. You should considering upping them to a different host.

Not sure about the host, I know the pictures are kind of big, but not sure why it's going so slow.

As far as g3/g4 ... Considering it says iBook g4 on it, I'd say that's a good hunch. :p

Just out of curiousity, not to sidetrack you, but did you get a G4 as a replacement for a G3 under the logic board program, or what? I wasn't aware any G4s were eligible for that program, or were affected by that issue. I have a similar vintage iBook G4 myself, which is why I'm asking....

Also, btw, I also experienced the extremely slow load-times (I was curious because of the previous reply). Literally got about 20 scan lines of the first image after about 5 minutes! :o

At any rate, good luck with your sale.

Yea early g4s are eligible. I bought mine just over a year ago now. They aren't going to upgrade a g3 to a g4.

My entire site is dragging, it's normally very very fast. Not sure what the problem is.. .oh well.

My friend's g3 got updated to a g4-- but now come to think of it, his had many more problems than just the logic board.... :p

I wish I had the $$$ to buy your unit. Good luck with the sale tho!

wtmcgee...... How low are you willing to go?

PM me with an offer based on what you think is fair. I'm not sitting firm @ $850, however I'm not dying to get rid of the iBook. I just don't feel I'm using it enough to warrant owning it right now.

I felt I'd give people on this forum a chance to buy it from me and negotiate before I put it up on eBay or something like that. So, if you feel $850 is too high, please email me, PM me, or post in here and we'll see what we can do.

After getting a bunch of PMs and talking with people, I'm going to lower it to $825 shipped. However, I feel that's about as low as I'm willing to go at this point. PM me with any offers.
