So i just bought a "broken" ipod off this kid for thirty bucks. He said it has the folder with exclamation point. But right now, I need to get it charged up. I didn't get a cable with it, so I'm trying to track someone down that has an extra cable lying around so I can see if I can get this thing working or if I need to sell it on ebay..
send me a private message, post here or email me at dustin @ bikemedia.net
thank you!

It's a 10gig 3rd gen.
Also, I'm not really interested in selling it at this point. I'd love to try and get it working, which probably won't happen, but I've always wanted an ipod, so we'll see. I'm sure I'll be back here posting when I give up and decide to let it go.

He only asked the generation because the 1st and 2nd generation iPods use a different cable from the 3rd and 4th. Good luck with your hunt.
BTW the Cable costs 20 USD from Apple.

I'd be willing to bet that you could take it into an Apple Store and find out if it works, especially when it's slow there (like, say, now), then get the cable if there's a reason to buy one.

o **** the ipod
the ipod is only good as a fashion accessory
on the other hand, the creative zen is gd as a MP3 Player
