www.joystiq.com anounced that bungie.org got bungie to make the marathon trilogy available for free at:
trilogyrelease.bungie.org

I've been trying to get marathon: infinity to work on my 12" PB rev. C
The games only work in classic as far as I can tell. Going to the lowest resolution and colors while asking for highest detail in the game makes it start but it's pretty much unplayable unless one of you classic experts have some tips.

For real! Even back when I hated Macs, I had to admit that playing multiplayer Marathon against my dad's co-worker (a big Mac fan) was really fun. I'd love to re-live the memories, OS X-style.

well, i believe there is a link on bungie.org to alephone, an open source ox app that allows you to use marathon II and infinity game files to run the game natively in OS X. Alephone is still only at .72 or thereabouts, but its pretty much fully functional, has very few bugs and supports multiplayer.

Using the Aleph One Marathon version allows you to play M2 and infinity in OS X pretty decently.
Check https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=1997
or just google "Aleph One" to find it.

Previously you had to have serial numbers to play but luckily bungie was nice because you don't need the serials anymore.

Of course now I'm much too spolied by Halo 2 to enjoy this game.

You can also pick up M1A1--which is a reworking of the Marathon levels that can be played with Alephone.

My memory isn't that great but it seems pretty close to the original.

Try here for it: http://fileball.net/marathon/

MIA1 is dead on as far i can tell, at least as far as i remember beating it when i used to play, and i beat it a couple weeks ago and seemed to be fully legit.

Mine too, that was the first one I played, so the original Marathon wasn't really the most fun after that, and Infinity was awesome, but I still liked 2 the best :D
