Well since I use a Windows PC (2000) at work most of the time and my desktop at home is a PC (XP Pro) I voted for windows. I do own an iBook and love to use it however. I may eat bolony sandwiches or something similiar for lunch but I'd rather go out and eat steak.

hehehe, very well put :) That's got to be one of the best Windows - MacOS comparisons I've heard in quite some time.

Jaguar, and I suppose both FreeBSD and Linux too for my test server if you want to count that. Use BSD and OS 10.2 daily, Linux when I need to.
FreeBSD isn't on the list :(

I just recently got Jaguar and put in on my older 450 G4 - and what a difference, much better response than my Rev B. TiPB running OSX.1.5. That's getting upgraded next.

I think I'll pass on Jaguar until sometime in December -- this should give Apple enough time to fix many of the bugs. Until then, 10.1.5 will soldier on.
Won't upgrade to Panther, though, 'cause I have a few things that crap-out under Classic (eg, Marathon, M Durandal, M Infinity, M Rubicon -- and yes! I know I'm lame for playing that antique shoot-'em- up).

i could only comfortably use os 9.x on my 300 mhz ibook and i am quite happy with it and won't switch to os x 10.x until i get a new mac next year
from what i have seen from clients of mine and just fooling with os x at machines in stores, i like it ok...support for it grows every day and that is good and by next year...late next year, i can see apple completely going to os x
os x is not as crash proof as i had orginally believed it would be, but that is to be expected anyway
i don't like the dock too much in os x though it really looks fun to watch in genie mode...but that must waste a heck of a lot of ram

I always thought of UNIX as being fairly crash-prone as it was usually a haphazard mess. I worked with a smaller IBM UNIX server (25-50 user) and it seemed to work fairly well compared to DEC or HP or DG. However, compared to our IBM AS/400 (now iSeries), it was haphazard. The AS/400's operating system was elegant in the extreme as programmes used the included database and its soft 256 bit architecture, never knowing that there was 64-bit hardware underneath.
Mac OS X is much better than I ever expected and a real breath of fresh air for Apple.
