what cpu dose the laptop have?
and if the logic board has a zif socket then it is not agp it's pci if it has agp then it dose not have a zif socket, if it is a pci board then you are trying to put a g4 cpu in a probably un firmware patched board.

Yes, Canada is fine (actually am North of you anyway...)
Hector, the Toshiba is a Pentium 166 it runs older windows fine but bogs down with XP.
The Logic board is a Sawtooth board with the Zif socket. I still refer to these as Zif's as they are zero insertion boards (just not the latch zif you may be referring too?)
In any case, it is a Sawtooth G4 AGP board with a socket'ed G4 / 450 and heatsink. (4 empty ram slots).

For Windows XP to run even moderate, you have to have 233MHz Pentium Processor, also you have to have a minimum of 64MB of RAM, 128 Recommended and at least 4MB of Video Memory (they didn't put that one in there, but its true)(for optimal performance)

fyi a sawtooth board is not a zif board as you have to put a fair bit of force to get the cpu so sit properly only the yikes g4 boards and g3 boards used zif sockets, if you line up the cpu correctly you can drop it in and not have to push it in. the sawtooth socket is just refered as an agp board socket.

Forgive my ignorance with this one...but I may be interested in the DIMM.
My machine currently takes PC-2100 266MHz DDR. Would your chip be compatible?
Thanks!

No this is a PC133 Dimm which is a different layout than the 2100/2700 Dimms.
As well it is ECC most Macs cannot use ECC and not sure I would try it with the ones that support PC133 Dimms (Sawtooth-Quicksilver).
Good question tho!
I think the PC laptop has now been spoken for... in talks at least.

Has three persons interested now:
"sgarringer" has first dibs on this and waiting to hear back from him this evening.
if he does not want, then it will fall to "TheBunnellFarm" if they are willing to buy at the asking price.
if not, then "mlrproducts" has it.
Laptop is considered "SOLD" at this point.
Thanks folks, Socket 370 Motherboard and occompanied Dimm stick still up for grabs.
