I started an event in iCal on my Mac at 1pm. When synced to my iPod (4.1), it's 3pm. Why is that so?

Sounds like either your Mac or your iPhone is set to an incorrect time zone. Both will display the "correct" time but in reality are a couple of hours apart.

I am pretty sure both my computer's timezone and device are set to the same. This problem is still occuring. On my computer an event is on a certain date but on my device it's different. I tried to tick the Replace information on this iPhone - Calander, but still no help.

Alright, fixed it. It seems that Time Zone support was switched on under Calendar settings. Switched it off and all is good.
