Daisy chaining a FW400 drive on an FW800 drive

If I daisy chain a FW400 drive onto a FW800 drive, will the FW800 drive slow down to FW400 speeds?
 
Thanks, good to know. Since the iMac only has one FW port, I wanted to make sure about that before investing in a larger external drive to go along with the FW400 drive I currently have.
