I have the original tv and I'm very content with it. However, Airplay has convinced me to look at getting the new tv.

I'm in Canada so I know I'd lose buying TV shows from the couch. Would I at least still be able to rent movies directly from tv?

Are the movies available for rent on the original tv still available for rent on the new one?

Yes, we are able to rent direct from the ATV2. I can't say whether it has all the same movies as the old ATV, but there do seem to be plenty there! I have to admit, I miss the ability to buy from the ATV.

I found a major loss: Airplay to multiple speakers. The new tv cannot play to more than one wireless speaker. No sale for me. I use my tv as my home's audio system and I love that I can play music all over the house without wires. I'll look into the new tv when it catches up to the original in features...

You can still push content to multiple speakers (including the new Apple TV), just initiate it from either iTunes or the remote app...

The new Apple TV is a destination, not a source (and that's not likely to change, given that there is no longer local storage) - either iTunes or your iDevice becomes the source, and both of those can certainly include the new Apple TV as one of the multiple speaker destinations...so you can still do what you want, you just initiate it a bit differently, not a big deal.

Ok good. I assumed that because you couldn't push Airplay audio to multiple speakers that other iOS devices wouldn't be able to either. So if I'm streaming music from my iPhone or iPad, I can use Airplay to send it to the tv and an Airport Express?
