Well I've done it... I've gone wireless! Problem is, I need just a bit more range. I'm not talking 15 km more range like I saw on one site, I'm talking just a little extra oomph.
So, I have a new base station and I want to gain a bit more range for as little $$$ as possible. I'm broke after setting up 5 Macs and a couple of PCs :(
Anyone done anything like this or know of a web site with instructions?

One very cheap, very easy solution = sledgehammer.
Walls reduce your reception. Remove them and your Airport will transmit much better. While not exactly elegant/legal, it's a lot of fun.
Or, check out this page...seems to be a lot of people asking the same question as you:

if I put two base stations in range of one another, and one was connected to my cable, they can share the the connection (and therefore the one not connected to cable would boost the signal in its area), right?

Here (http://www.vonwentzel.net/ABS/Antenna/index.html) is one site on range extension.
Here (http://www.vonwentzel.net/ABS/index.html) is a in depth site on the base station itself.
Here's (http://www.vonwentzel.net/ABS/Extender.html) another site.
Basically, you can extend the range by taking it apart and fitting a powered antennae.
