Airplay is supported, but in a limited fashion. It will continue to function as an Airplay device through iTunes, but audio only (same functionality as AirTunes). It doesn't show up at all from an iOS device.

I have a first gen, so I can confirm it still works [the same as AirTunes].

Yeah I'm bummed out about that too.

Also bummed that the :apple:TV2 doesn't have analog audio out, 'cause I not only have it connected to a TV I have the analog out going to a clock radio boombox for use as AirTunes speakers.

I might have to put the old girl out to pasture, between Airplay and not having a spinning disk, and buy a toslink->analog breakout box. Apple really should have made the optical out a combo analog/digital jack like the Macbook.

There's an optical to analog converter on Monoprice for just under $25. Works very well.
