I'm looking to upgrade the RAM on the computer below. How much would you recommend for playing UT2004. The apple store says 1 GB. Do you really need that much? Thanks in advance. ;)

I just did a game night with some friends... that was the game of choice.
I survived with 1.25, and the rule of thumb is.. the more the better.
Get what you can afford, if its more then the specs, then OSX would love you for that.
Good luck

UT2004? Hm.
I can have a decent botmatch at 1024*768 on my rev.c 12" Powerbook... with the stock memory - just like yours. More memory is always good, though - 1.25GB with a stick from outpost.com makes everything faster.

I get some pretty good UT2k4 action with my dual 1.8 G5 on 1GB of ram and 128MB Radeon 9600xt. I'm very close to upgrading to 1.5GB of ram very soon.
On 1280x1024, all graphical details set to maximum, I get good framerates on all maps. Sometimes when in the heat of battle, if there are about 6 or more players on the screen at once, it can bog down pretty good.

Well I'll look for a cheap 1 GB chip. If not 768 and lower settings. Thanks ;)

They ussually have good prices for Mac memory.
P.S. Am I allowed to make suggestions like that?

i play UT2K4 with only 512MB RAM on my machine and it runs really well. 1GB though... that would be much better.
