iPhoto 5 crashing on start-up, Permissions??

Hey everybody, I don't think I've ever posted but I know i have been reading MacRumors for ever. Anyway, i just got iLife '05 in the mail and installed it right away, however the whole reason I bought the program was for iPhoto, and of course it appears to be the only one not working. After taking forever to load all my pictures(10K+),it seems to drag and then finally give me a message saying that I do not have permission to these pictures. It shows them up but doesn't allow me to click on anything and then boom it just closes. I have a 1.25Ghz 15"PB, with 512mb ram, any ideas what I can do??

Have you tried to repair permissions in the Disk Utility? I don't know if this would cause your problem, but it might be worth a try.
