View Full Version : MacBook Air RIP?

I have one of the original MacBook Airs. So far it's run just fine.

Yesterday...I try to power up, I get a white screen of nothing, and a series of three ominous beeps that repeat until I power down again.

Any ideas on this? Do I have a dead Mac? If so, is there a DIY solution to save data on it?

It sounds like a bad RAM issue.

Did you upgrade the RAM yourself?

(I could be wrong)

Does sound like bad RAM, however, you couldn't upgrade RAM on the Airs. It has always been soldered to the logic board.

Since that is a logic board issue, your hard drive should be perfectly fine, and you can extract all of the data from it.

That's what I thought I remembered about the Airs, I just wasn't sure.

Still sounds like bad RAM though.....

Agreed.

I'd schedule a service appointment. At the very least, you should be able to get the data off it. Hopefully they can fix it if it's a RAM or logic board issue.
