OMG I should give you the name and number of my shrink, he's helped me work through the same issue you have.

HAHA, JK, but yeah, it happens. You'd be amazed what the cosmetics sections have at Target\Walmart\Drug Stores. You can get thinner q-tips, etc, and things like nail polish remover (get it ON and get it OFF FAST to avoid damage), or just be safe and use windex applied directly onto the swab.
