macOS Help with applescript

Well i'm new to mac's and programming. I am trying to write a script that will map a users network drive on login based on their user ID. i learned how to mount the drives using the command "mount volume." The problem comes with the users own drive. For example if John Doe logs in i would like for his drive JDoe to be mapped, and if John Smith logs is it maps JSmith. is there any way to do that in applescript?
