is there an application for Mac to check and see who is connected to my wireless router? I know of a couple for the PC, but I want to check on my mac

There is a terminal command 'findsmb'. It will give you the name and ip of all the computers in your network.

That's only true if the machine is running Windows (with file-sharing enabled) or is a Mac or Linux machine running SAMBA (Windows File Sharing in Apple speak).

Download the Apple AirPort Management Tools (http://download.info.apple.com/Mac_OS_X/061-1087.20040419.AptmG/2Z/AirPortManagementTools.dmg) . This will let you see who is connected to your AirPort base station as well has other abilities.
