I used to use my Handspring daily but I haven't had much use for it recently.

I use the Handspring daily.

To all the APPLE employees here: Integrate the address book and iCal to work with Palm! That way, we don't have to input everything twice!

HMMMM, never.

Have a family memebr who is a senior programmer for PALM, he never uses his either. What the hell do they do?

Get a cell phone to store numbers, and call people. Get a small notebook to write notes. PDA's have little use, cept for geeks who wish to take 5 times as long doing the same thing a pen and paper( about 25 cents) can do.

none, i was really wanting a handheld (palm or ipaq) a while ago but not anymore since theyre way too expensive...
there was an hp handheld laptop (had a small screen) that had crappy specs and costed as much as a medium end peecee would be...

I went from a Franklin to a Palm. The Franklin worked fine... but once I left it in somebody's office, and realized there was no backup for it. Once it was lost, it was lost forever.

The little Palm III (2MB) holds far more information than the Franklin Classic. And it backs up to my computer. If I decide I want a newer model (why would I?) or if I lose the Palm or break it, I can get a new or used Palm and go right on. No data is lost.

The Palm has overwhelming advantages in capacity, compactness and backup.

Cell phones may be OK in the future, if we can stop the cellular carriers from jerking us around on formats, locking our phones, and ripping us off in every way. Not likely, because the cellular carriers all have the same anal-retentive mindset. They inherited it from the evil RBOC monopolies which, in fact, own most of them.

Used to use a Palm, switched to a Sony Clie then didn't use one for a long time.
Recently was using my iPod Touch, and I have now switched over to using my Openmoko phone running Google Android. Not really a PDA, but does all the stuff I need it to.

Cheers

I have been using a palm for about 5 years. I read books had reminders played a few games had a my database on it for a bit and other things. I went through 3 tx's they never lasted a year before they needed replaced. it was worth the 60.00 extended warranty. now I have a iphone and it does more except for reminders.

Nothing original but I use a Palm Treo. I've been a long time Palm user and actually have an old Tungsten T3 that I keep on my nightstand for use as an alarm clock and for playing games on if I can't get to sleep at night. A few quick games of solitaire or backgammon usually does the trick.

Newton MP 2000. Ya its really outdated, but its surprisingly powerful and has some excellent apps. Its not just for nostalgia either, I really do think its an extremely useful PDA.

My Blackberry Pearl tethered to iCal via Google Calendar. Sure, someone is probably watching when and where I go get my hair cut, but that's why you just have to be like Dwight on the office: having a diary to keep secrets from one's computer.

I can also edit anywhere: on my phone or on a terminal to something secure and they all sync together without wires. Magical!

NEC Mobilepro 780--In many ways, a precursor to the modern netbook...but built to much higher quality specs than most netbooks...which fits, given the original ~1000USD pricetag...

My iPhone is a perfect PDA, all my calendars, and contacts are ready at hand. As for notes, I prefer pen and paper.

Wow. Nice pull from the Wayback machine.

I was always a Palm junkie...
Palm III
Palm IIIe
Palm M505(??)
Palm Tungsten T3
Palm Treo 650 (Verizon)

Now I've moved on to the iPhone 3G and am very happy with it. I admit to being curious to try out the Pre when it's out, though.

Handspring Treo 600p
Palm Treo 650p
Palm Treo 700p
Palm Treo 755p
Apple iPhone 1st gen

I rock my Newton!!!

No... Not really. The iPod touch is the closest thing I have to a PDA. That plus a cheap Virgin Mobile phone.

treo 650

It'll likely be replaced by a pre unless apple decides to do some kind of iphone/macbook offer in the uk (which I rather doubt).

Me too, Treo 650. It served me very well over the years.
It's gonna be replaced this summer with the new iPhone.

Before that I had a Palm V. Those were the good ole days with monochromatic displays!

Ahh! Whatever, happened to those daily polls?

Sony UX50 (my favorite one, too bad it never became a smartphone)

Couldn't agree more - I think the UX50 is probably the best PDA ever made - even if the battery life was a bit suspect.

Was a long time PocketPC user from 2000 till 2007. (HP and Asus models) I gave up my seperate PDA when I switched to the Nokia E-Series. The iSync integration worked perfect. But nowadays I use my iPhone for that.

Used to have a Palm Z22 (or something like that).

Battery got weak, and Palm really wasn't supporting it anymore (crappy syncing and such)...

So, I got an iTouch, and use it on a regular basis! Great little machine.

I used to have a watch with the Palm OS on it

I've always considered the iPod touch to be an advanced PDA. It has everything a PDA is suppose to do and more: Notes, Contacts, Calendars, Calculator, Browser, email. Only thing it doesn't have is To Do's, but you can download apps to do that).

Of course the iPhone is a smartphone, by definition a combination of a phone and a PDA.

So I have both an iPhone and an iPod touch as my PDAs (I have both because I got tired of running out of battery playing games on my iPhone, and for testing my app).

I hear ya. I had just about the same ones. Unfortunately, my addiction spanned not only palm and ppc pdas, but symbian with the revo. My three favorites:

Sony TH55 (I still use it for the clie organizer; esp the Free notes app)
Dell Axim X50V
Treo 650.

My iPhone is great, but the PIM functions are no where near as good as palm's were.
