Ok, just wondering i need a new laptop for Uni and for my job. is it legit (or more to the point, will apple do it) if i order a powerbook through university network to get the EDU discount, but have it shipped/billed to the company i work for so i can claim VAT and tax back off it?
i couldnt find anything about it in apples HE terms and conditions 🙂 ,
just incase it makes any difference i live in the UK...

AFAIK you can only choose one of the options - business or edu not both. Apple used to be pretty lax about edu orders (not checking student ID etc0 but for business orders you have to claim the VAT back from the Inland Revenue, who take a dismal view of people trying to abuse the system. Short answer - you can't do both. One or the other. If its legit go for the business option 17.5% off (VAT) compared to 9% for students. Just remember its never a good idea to avoid the Inland Revenue - they will catch up with you even if its a few years down the line.
