skype on iphone abroad to skype on mac...free over 3g?

a few months ago I was on my iphone on skype over 3g and I called my friend in China and he was on skype on his mac and we talked for a bit and I was charged $25 from At&t for voice minutes.....wasn't skype to skype supposed to be free or is it different if they are on a mac and I am on an iphone? It doesnt say that anywhere....

My guess is it would have been free if you had been on WiFi, but you were on 3G and using data

It shouldn't of cost unless they have a policy for fair usage or Skype.

Your best bet is probably to contact AT&T for an explanation of the charges
