Last Saturday, I dropped my 32 gig, 4th gen iPod on the concrete and shattered the glass. This thing goes everywhere with me so I figured I'd have to get it repaired or buy a new one.
Sunday, I filled out a request online for service with Apple and received a reply to pay $150 and drop my iPod off at the nearest FedEx store. No need to pack it or anything, just drop it off with a copy of the email. So Monday morning, I go to my local FedEx joint and the guy takes my iPod and gives me a receipt.
The next morning, Tuesday, Apple informs me that they have received my iPod and will send me a replacement (I assume a refurb, don't know) and it should take 3 business days.
This morning, Wednesday, my FedEx man is at my door at 8:30 AM with my new iPod.
So, it took from 8:30 AM on Monday to 8:30 AM on Wednesday to hook me back up from a couple thousand mile away. Gee, couldn't they have been a little faster.
