iPod ipod google thinks im in australia but in uk

My dad went to australia last year and used his i pod on wifi over there, since then any search he does on google takes him to australian sites with google.com.au....

ive been into settings and where it asks not in austraila? and clicked through to chose UK but when i leave safari and log out, next search done goes back to auz...

any ideas please...
