I bought this one today at BrandMart USA for $298, looked very nice in the store. The sales people knew NOTHING, i MEAN NOTHING, they didn't know what VGA or DVI was, but I knew so I just got what I wanted, and had them get it for me.

Here's the kicker, I ask a guy if they have any keyboards with USB out on them like the Apple Keyboard, out of curiosity, and he gives me the blank stare, and stutters we don't uhmm have any...

I think I knew more about PC's than there entire dept put togehter, but that's what you get when you can sell a microwave for $15 and a washer and dryer set for $100

19" LCD, VGA and DVI. Lots of good review. $325+12 shipping, no tax unless you're in CA. Pretty attractive case too, imo. No ACD, but not bad. Kinda low res and high response time, though. Also take a look at Dells UltraSharp series. They are supposedly pretty good.

This is why Apple needs to put the 17" iMac display in a seperate casing and sell them for $399.

Samsung 712N

12ms refresh rate playes Far Cry nicely on my PC - should be sub $300 with rebate. Check Best Buy or compuplus

🙂

You will need VGA to DVI adapter. When I looked a DVI 17inch was too much more and the differnece in minimal - but I guess it depends on the adapter cost....

is there a reason to get a 19in LCD over a 17? from the ones i have looked at, they have the same resolution. perhaps i haven't looked at enough.

Dell Ultrasharp. Their 19 inch model is often on sale for less than 300 dollars. Check the likes of www.Gotapex.com for coupon codes. Although the max resolution of the 19 inch is the same as the 17 inch, it's plenty adequate unless you're graphic designing. 1600x1200 on a 19 inch screen is a real eyesore in any case.

i still prefer my CRT to LCD

Lacie Electron BLUE IV 19" -- oh ya

sells for 349 right now -- with a .24 grill pitch vs. like .26 on the 17" LCD's and .29 on the 19" LCD's i've seen listed here ... THATS JUST GROSS
