I'm converting a 40 minute episode of a programme on Handbrake from .avi to .mp4 for my iPhone 4. It has an estimated time of 1 hour 45 minutes approx. Is this normal? It seems very slow.

What is the speed/type of computer? Also, what settings are you using (bitrate, etc.).
My C2D Macbook can rip a DVD and encode it in 2 hours, give or take.
