I have a iphone 3gs, and the contract allows me to get the iphone 4 for a subsidized price. What other costs are there for upgrading besides the cost of the phone?

There might be an upgrade/activation fee depending on your account.
But if you call customer service they might credit your account and remove it.

Other than the cost of the phone, and activation fees, taxes, you are probably going to want some new accessories to go with it...A new case for example.
I was in same situation. you have to pay tax on subsidized price(obviously) and an upgrade/activation fee.
