I've tried a couple but nothing beats Pages. It's worth the ten bucks.

I have also purchased QuickOffice HD, but I hardly ever use it, always returning to Pages.

I just wish it gains Dropbox support and the function to "Open With" another application.

Try dropdav.com.

Have you tried Google Docs? I think it is not a bad free home use option.

Ya, I've used Google Docs as well Pages, and I have to say, Pages wins over Google Docs. However, if you don't want to drop the $9.99 for Pages, then Google Docs will be just fine.

For me, the only viable word processing solution is to break out my MacBook Pro. If you need to read/write documents with footnotes, the IPad isn't a usable word processing device.

I was particularly looking into getting quickoffice since it has 3 functions in one. Can some more people comment on this app?

Pages is great for editing text documents. The only downside is that it doesn't support dropbox or googledocs.
