i have one to carry my MBA13 and daily stuff. but yes, it does have a cushioned, lined pocket specifically for an iPad. the front pocket is expandable as well. it's a really great bag, especially for the price, and the construction quality is remarkable compared to other bags in its price range. i rave about this bag to everyone i know looking for one.

i use a 15.4" messenger bag. with a sleeve on my Macbook air, this sleeve is 16" in total in length, and 11" in width. fits perfectly in the compartment with my ipad on top..my ipad has the black apple case

I have the Incase Canvas Vertical Sling. It has two inside pockets; I use the larger one for my MBA 13", and the smaller one for my iPad. (there's actually another zippered pocket on the outside that you can store papers, etc., as well as a snug mini-pocket to fit an iPhone/iPod Touch.
