I'm not really up on how well Powerbooks hold their value. Anybody offer some advice? I got it used as part of a trade, so I don't even have a good dollar figure to start from.

It was my first Mac, and I'm hooked. Thinking about a brand new one, but not sure what I could get for this one.

The computer is as follows:
15" G4 PowerBook 867Mhz (sometimes referred to as TiBook)
ATI Radeon 9000 32 MB Video card
15" widescreen (1280 x 854)
768 MB PC133
40GB hard drive
Combo drive (slot load CD-RW / DVD-ROM)
Airport card installed (802.11b)
PCMCIA slot
10/100 Network
Firewire
2 USB 1.1
DVI out (w/ VGA adapter)
S-Video out
Modem

I would have to say slight cosmetic scratches on the bottom and top, but nothing major. The screen is perfect.

Thanks!

I well you today I saw a refurb 15" PowerBook 1ghz (Al) combo drive for $1300.

So I would say for your 867mhz $1200ish

Because of its close proximity to the 12" 1.5 that just came out, I'd say that 1300 is a little high. I'm going to say it's valued in a range of 1050-1225

I'd put it somewhere in the range of $900-$1000. Modest ram upgrades, bsic hard drive and optical drive, really, but it's the airport card that sets this thing apart. Those things just keep creeping up in value.

I am in the same dilema... I actually want to hold out until the infamous PBG5 comes out, but my concern is that when that happens, the value of the PB will go down even more. It works pretty well, though, so I'll probably keep it for a little longer.

Regarding the value, I would think it would be around $1200 as well.

I think it's worth about $50, but I am a kind and generous soul and will pay you $75! ;)

PS I think the prices people have suggested are definitely in range. EBay is typically the best bet, if you have some feedback already.
