Anyone move photos from iPhoto 2 -> iPhoto 5?

I skipped iPhoto 3 and 4 and just bought iLife 05 after using iPhoto 2 for a long time. Now I'd like to hear from people who did the same... How did it go?

I'll use the latest patch and keep a backup, regardless.

I did this at the weekend - backed up first just to be on the safe side, but didn't have any problems. Everything there, all the albums preserved etc. I only have about 1,200 photos, which took about an hour to update (1/2 for the photos, another 1/2 for the thumbnails). That's on a G3 800 iBook.

Thanks for the report.

I know iP 5 is supposed to be slower (in everyday use) than iP4.... how does it compare, though, to iP 2?
