How do you guys get your buddy list to be transparent against ur desktop backround? Ive also seen some people editing the source code in a transparent text edit box. How do you achieve such a cool task?

How do you guys get your buddy list to be transparent against ur desktop backround? Ive also seen some people editing the source code in a transparent text edit box. How do you achieve such a cool task? They use Adium for the buddy list. It is highly customizable.
