12" Powerbook 867 able to hook up 20" display w/ DVI connection?

I am afraid you in a tough position. The device you linked will only transfer an analog signal which will not work with any apple digital displays. The only option if you want an apple LCD is a converter like this one: http://www.gefen.com/kvm/product.jsp?prod_id=1310

However if you do not want to shell out that kind of cash for an apple display and converter I recomend a samsung 193p dispaly. I know aesthetics are really important this monitor is not only beautiful but has a dvi and analog connection and will save you some major cash.....check it out: http://www.anandtech.com/showdoc.html?i=2024

For high res LCDs VGA to DVI converters aren't guaranteed to work. I have a DVI 1600x1024 SGI flat panel, and through a VGA interface, the resolution doesn't scale that high. Through DVI i get native res.

By new adaptors, you mean that they are DVI. Apple is done with their old proprietary standard called ADC. But the Rev A 12" PBs have a VGA out. VGA is the older analog standard.
