Hi All,

I'm going to order a MBP, but want to customize it: 8GB ram, 750GB drive, optibay w/SSD. However, I also want the fastest available processor.

While the Apple site does allow you to upgrade some components, it does not allow you to downgrade any. I basically want to buy the smallest HDD and lowest amount of ram possible.

If I select the i7 processor, it forces an upgrade to the 500GB drive. Any way to downgrade to the default 320GB drive offered in the base model? Has anyone tried calling them to see if more options exist?

Just seems like a waste and extra expense to pay for a hard drive that I know I won't use.

(and yes, I know about SB)

Thanks

First off, to even get an i7 MBP you must get the high-end 15" or 17"

Both of those models come with a 500gb HDD... Sorry, but that is how it is...

No, these are the options that are available...

The cost difference between a 500gb and a 320gb would be what like $20? Not worth it... And they are not going to custom configure it for you anyways... The CTO options that are on the online store is what you have to play with...
