I just bought a new plain 12-inch powerbook. What kinda games can I play on my laptop? Is it able to run UT2K4 and COD? Or is it only good for RTS and games with lower system requirements?

Thanks!

Thanks! my 1ghz powerbook runs ut really well. settings turned down of course. If you have the 1.5, with 64 megs of video ram you will run both of those games fine.

I believe you can play Halo. I have a 15" PB and it's pretty good, especially multiplayer!

I have a Rev C. 12" PB. I play COD no problem with normal settings. I played UT2K4 demo and it played decently. You shouldn't have any problem with the games you want to play.

I've been playing COD and COD:UO on my 12" PB - 1.33GHz 768 MB RAM - with no problems.

I guess I'm the only one here that thinks their 12" PB sucks at gaming. Mine does. MOHAA, 800x600, all settings low, 20-40 FPS outside... That sucks... I hope you have better luck than me. I tried the UT2K4 demo, and I got about 20 FPS constantly with all details low and a resolution of 800x600.

20-40 fps? It could be worse. MOHAA isn't the best-coded game in the world, either.

Also I would try installing the full version of UT2k4 if you have it available. The demos have consistently bad framerates, which are significantly improved in the patches as well.

You may have trouble with this year upcoming titles that need G5s, but any games from last year and below will work. I would get CoD, AoM, and Halo.
All of them run fine on my 933 MHz machine. (Halo turned down of course, but it's enjoyable.)

The key with gaming on a Powerbook is running at a native resolution. Turn the games up to 1024x768 and you'll see a noticeable difference in performance.

Just play world of warcraft. You won't need any other games.
