Personally, I think it's better to change the slogan and LET every poll run for a week. Running for just a day isn't much chance for people to vote and discuss, and gives smaller results.
New Poll Tuesdays?
Or a compromise: a weekly poll AND a weekend poll. One opens on Mon., onw on Fri.
Or best of all... a new poll every day BUT have 7 open at once! Monday's poll stays open until the next Monday, etc.

It's 10.3.7 all the way for me - at work and at play.
Very occasionally do I step onto an XP box and if I do it's normally to troubleshoot something! I'm just too used to OSX now, XP feels foreign and as a result I'm never too productive and feel like I'm fighting it the whole time. Looking forward to Tiger!

And I use Photoshop and Illustrator for a living!), but Apple's sending me a 'free' 1.8GHz iMac G5 (http://www.aspoonfuloflester.com/archives/000024.html) (they're actually just replacing my crazy old iMac G4). i finally upgraded to OS X and got 10.2 about two weeks before 10.3 was announced.
That is why:
-I'm waiting till 10.4.
-I signed up on MacRumors... never ... again
(by that i meant, i signed up on mac rumors so i'd be aware of upcoming releases and not waste money on dated products, like say, buying 10.3 now, or buying a power book any time between when they released the G5 power mac and when G5 power books come out :D )

It's the little things like lack of exposé and no command-tab etc, which really throw me!
Hmmm... There is a "Cmd-Tab equivalent in Windows. In fact, the new Command-Tab feature from Panther is a rip-off from the Alt-Tab feature (as opposed to the Cmd-Tab feature from Jaguar, which tabbed between applications in the Dock instead), found in Windows since its early days. I remember using it in Windows 3.1, in 1992! It looked so slick and cool, and everyone went "ooh" and "aah" everytime I used that... :p Btw, you are probably aware that the "Alt" key on PC keyboards is the equivalent of the Cmd/Apple key.
The only difference is that since Windows uses a strange mix of Application-centric approach in some apps like Photoshop and a Window-centric approach in some apps like IE or Word, when you use Alt-Tab you get a confusing set of windows and apps, instead of the neat organized set of open apps which you can quit by using Cmd-Q... I was so used to Alt-tab in Windows that if it wasn't for Exposé, I wouldn't survive without Cmd-Tab in OS X. I kept using that all the time during those two weeks I used Jaguar (my old iMac G4 came with Jaguar in the system DVD and with the Panther upgrade discs bundled. I decided to use Jaguar for a while out of curiosity and nostalgia, so I could both notice the difference and be able to say, one day, that I've used 10.2 for some time :D )
Edit: Beaten to it :o
Anyway, I am, too, glad that Apple ripped off that feature from Windows. You know why? Because what they did wasn't actually a ripoff, it was an *improvement*. Just like what they did with Fast User Switching... Or, more notably, what they did with Bang & Olufsen's scroll wheel. Most people don't know, but the 1G iPod's scroll wheel is an exact copy of a similar device found in a B&O phone (I've held one of those, I know what I'm talking about). However, Apple got that sweet Synaptics technology and improved upon the original concept... As if that wasn't enough, they reinvented the scroll wheel :D and made it even better with its clickable iteration. This is what I love about Apple, they manage to grab the already best idea out there, and make it even better. When was the last time you've seen M$ or Dell (or any other company, for that matter) doing that? ;)
Just like with the iPod, what's most important is not coming first, but making the best-working product. If you can do both, and Apple has done it many times recently, then, even better. ;)

Instead of asking why 10.2, you should ask why 10.0 or 10.1. 10.2 is a great OS, and one of the most stable out there. In comparison, the difference between 10.0-10.1 to 10.2 is much more noticable than going from 10.2 to 10.3. Now of course I have 10.3.7 on my machine, buta lot of people out there don't want to plunk down $129 on software that they know is going to be updated in a little less than 5 months.
But, i do agree with the idea that 10.3 is better than 10.2.

My main computer (in terms of personal stuff on it like music, photos, and movies,) is my latest-gen eMac running 10.3.7.
My son has an older Pentium 4 running XP SP2. (To hopefully be replaced with a mini soon.)
And I have a very occasionally used Athlon XP system running XP SP2. (It's my 'XP' computer, as it has an AMD Athlon XP processor, running Windows XP, with Office XP, and the motherboard made by Abit has an accompanying drive-bay flash memory card reader called the 'MediaXP'.)
Finally, I have a collection of older Macs that run various Systems from 1.0 to 9.2

LOL!
I use Mac OS X v10.3.7 as my primary OS and Windows XP Professional as my secondary OS. The Mac gets anywhere from 75-90% of the usage, while the PC gets 10-25% (25% only occurs when I have a Windows-intensive task to do, which isn't all that often; that doesn't mean my Windows PC doesn't get used on a daily basis, though.)

Unfortunately Windows is still dominant where I work and I have been forced to use it as well. The rules have changed recently so that I can now theoretically use a Mac at work but some software and IT department security policies have held me back.
OSX is recognized as having strong security but all application software needs to pass security review. Since the user base is dominated by Windows, applications for OSX have a much lower priority for review which results in delays in deployment.
I need a portable Mac that is powerful enough to run Virtual PC, Windows XP and my application software fairly well. Based on my estimates of the computing power required to run this software at a level of perfomance I am comfortable with I need at least a 1.67GHz G4 with 2GB of RAM.
I will be travelling constantly for the next year and have been in the market for a new laptop. The recent Powerbook revisions unfortunately arrived a week too late since I am about to leave on a trip for several months. I will probably have to wait for the next revision. Until then I will be stuck with a variety of computers and operating systems for various needs both at work and at home.

I still don't get that... anyone care to explain?
it has to be 10.3 all the way (apart from when tiger comes out!)
who is still using 10.2??? why!
Because maybe we don't have Panther discs because that whole warning when 10.3.0 came out and "It might...uh.... erase your hard drive.... yeah..." thing scared me. And who really cares if it works fine for now? Tiger is coming out soon enough. A little bit over a year? Its worth it to wait and just skip ahead to Tiger.
Proving my point:
Instead of asking why 10.2, you should ask why 10.0 or 10.1. 10.2 is a great OS, and one of the most stable out there. In comparison, the difference between 10.0-10.1 to 10.2 is much more noticable than going from 10.2 to 10.3. I still don't get that... anyone care to explain?
Here goes...
Apple came out with the Mac OS, which had an Apple menu for easy access to global OS-related things. Microsoft saw this concept and tried to improve on it by creating what we now know as the Start menu. At the same time, they introduced an Alt+Tab-driven task switcher, which wasn't pretty, but it was functional, and it was something Apple did not have.
Much later...
Apple releases a new version of Mac OS X (don't remember which one) with a task switcher similar to the Alt+Tab switcher in Windows, only much more interactive, as a means of revenge.

Your clamshell iBook can handle OS X just fine. My 366mhz has 320mb ram and I run 10.2.8 on it. It can be a little slow at times, but the upgraded OS is worth it! I also installed a 30gb hard drive to handle the size of OS X. If you don't have at least the 6gb factory drive, I wouldn't bother. The best you can strip OS X down to is about 1.2 or 1.4 gb.
