So i just got my Ultimate MBA in the mail and now am wondering what accessories i need to get next. I know they main ones like the superdrive, external ethernet usb, sleeve. But what are the best accessories for protection? Are there specific sleeves that fit the MBA very well, and is there any type of film covering i can put on to protect it from scratches? Maybe a hardshell case?

Search a little. This is debated many times. I have a fully loaded air I travel with. It's naked, goes into my bag for rest, comes out for work. Love it.

I received my Speck case last week and it is perfect. It's very thin, material feels grippy and it looks great in black. Highly recommended.

Wrapsol or InvisibleShield

Why not just wrap a large size condom over it? Wraps clear covers, etc. look cheap.

I just applied Wrapsol to my new 13"MBA and love the result. You honestly can only tell it's there if you tell someone to look for it. I also have a RadTech sleeve for when it rides in my tote bag, which I completely recommend. Fits like a glove but still easy to get in and out of, and keeps it safe from harm. No zipper, which I see as a plus but I can see why an open end might make some people nervous.

Good luck and happy searching!

I too and thinking about getting the WRAPSOL. It looks pretty awesome. Provided protection without taking away the beauty of this fine little machine! :D

Here's a few pics of the speck see thru (clear) case on my ultimate.. I love it, it's so thin and gives it a great grip. Purchased is at local apple store for $50

Bodyguardz whole body protection. Look for it on eBay, its much cheaper than their official website

i still need to get protection for mine but i'm thinking of wrapsol if the fit is good. I like the idea of a skin and a hard case like hard candy bubble sleeve.

$50 for a Speck case?!?!? Their website says they are out of stock anyway.

Try a WaterField.

Naked with a good bag to put it in. It amazes me how people buy such pretty devices just to ugly them up :p scratches suck but as long as you transport it in a decent case or bag it shouldn't be a issue.

I just carry it around naked. If I get small scratches then I rub some steel wool over it and it's gone. Always keep some in your bag.

I got my Speck case off Amazon for about $18, and shipping was free. It was such a good deal, I got a second!

I really like my Speck case. Yes, it does make it a little thicker, but then I don't have to worry about another pocket case (I just throw it into my computer bag). Maybe I'm obsessive, but while the metal exteriors look great new, they look awful when scratched and dusty.

The speck case overtime will scratch your laptop when dust gets in the case, The best protection is a good sleeve.

just a sleeve for toting.

other than that, be careful with the sucker.
in the same way as you wouldn't slide an expensive camera or phone around the desk or pitch it onto the seat of the car, handle you Air with care.
and don't let anyone else use it.

a wipe over with a damp cloth and a buff with a soft dry one will keep it in pristine condition.

I've always managed to pass my Macs on looking almost the same as purchase date by always respecting a delicate piece of engineering and electronics that I paid out big bucks for and view as an investment rather that a consumable.

I find skins and shells take away the tactile pleasantness and crap gets underneath them anyway and causes the very thing they're supposed to prevent.
