Hi All,

I need to replace the battery on my aluminium macbook as mine is faulty and Applecare won't cover it even though it's done less cycles than they say it should.

The battery is au$199 from the Apple Store. There are plenty of cheaper batteries on other websites so I will probably get one of them.

Can anyone recommend an Australian (or somewhere else that ships to Australia) website to get a new battery from? Also, are they likely to be genuine Apple batteries and if not how good will they be?

Thanks in advance.

I would never trust a battery that didn't come from Apple. It's not just about the price of the battery; it's about the value of your Mac.

Have you calibrated your battery properly? If so, how many cycles are on it and what is your battery health?

This should answer most, if not all, of your battery questions:
