What to do with an old iPod Mini?

I had an old broken mini knocking about. It was a pretty useless paper weight so I wanted to do something more creative with it.
This what I got, still yet to make the base, but basically, hollowed it out then disassembled then reassembled the clickwheel so it took less space. Now I think I am going to gift it to my tutor (also a big apple fan) when I leave school:

I was thinking more along the lines of using the front and back and glue it onto something bigger.
