I have a: Macbook OS X, 10.4

I'm trying to download a BitTorrent, but I'm having a tough time installing. Every time I download one, I double click to install and I get the message:

This operation could not be completed because the disk "macintosh HD" is not available anymore

Error -35

What does this mean and how can I fix it? I just need a bittorrent that will work, nothing fancy.

Any suggestions?

use transmission. 10.4 cant run the latest but they have old releases on their website.

Ok, so I downloaded the version that is compatible with Mac 10.3 but now I get the message:

Safari Can't Open the file Transmission 0.6.1 because no available application can open it.

Why is Safari trying to open it? It's a .dmg file - is that correct?

When I double click the icon on the desktop (where it saved) I get a flash on the screen and then nothing happens?
