I discussed this with someone on the apple forums & they suggested for crossplatform windows/mac compatability that I try formatting my ipod to fat32.

I have heard of mac os's disk utility, could it do this? & what steps do I take to do this?

would a fat32 ipod work with the mac version of itunes?

I am on a macbook pro 2010 running snowleopard 10.6.3

Although your monitor supports 24 bit colour, it's your graphics card and drivers that enable your monitor to display at higher resolutions and colour depth.

Pardon, but what does this have to do with the format of my ipod's hard drive? could you kindly explain? I am having a little trouble making the connection.

dffd.cffc replied to the wrong thread, don't worry :p

Yes, you can do this. When I restored my iPod mini under windows it formatted as fat32, I can now mount it on windows and OS X and sync with both windows and OS X. I'm not sure if you can do it without the windows version of iTunes, though.
