I have a PowerBook g4 running 10.5.8

For several months been noticing really slow internet, even though at home I have DSL at 8 Mbps and work we have cable at 20 Mbps. Flash and any type of video is unwatchable.

I ran speed tests today from various sites, and noticed my speed clocking in at around 4 Mbps (work; 20 Mbps). So we called Charter, got them out there, everything checked out fine. He said he ran speed tests and it was showing OVER 20 Mbps.

Sure enough, I checked a couple of iMacs that we have, as well as a cheap-o Compaq laptop, cheap-o HP laptop and a high-end Dell desktop. Every single one of them showing 20 Mbps or over!

I am really aggravated!

I am starting to think my troubles didn't start until I had a tech upgrade my laptop to 10.5.8

Anybody have any ideas for me?

google is full with these posts about slow internet after upgrade to leopard maybe one of their tips bring you towards normal speed again

sorry if i am not a great help , but i know nothing about leopard ..apart it slowed down my eMac inclusive internet like someone had stolen half the processor and half the ram ,reinstalled tiger , so i never touched leopard again and didn't bother to search for reasons , and with tiger everything is more then fine especially since TENFOURFOX browser ,especially made for PPC , maybe give that a try after you did update everything possible in one of these posts is talk about 10.5.2 update would have been very important, but read the first article that may explain everything
