I have a G4 500mhz single processor.
I want to get a new hard drive I was thinking of a Maxtor DiamondMax 10 200GB*IDE ATA/133 8MB cache 7200RPM Drive to take the place of my existing 20 gig drive. Will I be able to just plug it in and formatt it with osx??

Thanks

no not with out an different harddrive controller card. the on board controller card for mac will only recognize about 126 gigs of your HD. (i have experienced this myself, i had a 160 only got 126 found out the older macs did not support big drives) so unless you want to buy another card for your coputer buyt a drive thats about 120. oh and there is software that will inable the big drive option but i hear it curroupts data. good luck
