Promising maybe?
I can't get it in anything other than read-only filesystem with a Windows 7 formatted drive through Terminal, but maybe if anyone has an NT/2000/XP formatted drive they could give it a go in Lion. SL was buggy for this.

You may find "Windows NT File System" listed as an option for volume formatting in Disk Utility in 10.7 Lion...

You still can't format a disk as NTFS though. It will recognize a disk that is already formatted as NTFS but the format menu for new disks looks like this:

I was wondering if that was the case. I saw NTFS-3G and figured it was the same 3rd party driver I'm using in SL.
