Outside of the processor speed, and the obvious difference in optical drives, are there any differences between these two models? Memory upgradeability for example?

I was looking into a Powerbook purchase but already have an external DVD burner, so saving the extra cash would be nice.

if you already have an external dvd burner and will have no need to burn dvds on the go then you can easily just go with the combo drive, no need for it then really

If you got a external DVD burner, I thinks it's kinda overkill if you get a PB with a superdrive. If you do, you can always get rid of the external DVD burner on eBay or here... 😀

Plus, you can use the extra $ for RAM or AppleCare.

If you go to the Apple Online Store you can actually purchase the 15'' Superdrive model - so you get all the extra benefits - but remove the SD as a BTO option. Saves you AU$230

The only other difference between the two models is that the 15" SuperDrive gives you the option of upgrading the Graphics Card from 64MB to 128MB dual link.
