This would probably be a bad idea but if Apple really did spend 6 months developing patterned cases for the iMacs they wouldn't give up on them that easily. Maybe we'll see an iMac model with an "Aqua" case that looks like the default desktop pic in OS X. The technology has potential if it's used right i.e. "not fruity".

A new iMac case does not constitute "boldly go where no pc has gone before" and apple knows that. iMac cases are not going to be featured in this Mac World.

The iMac cases wouldn't be the main event at Macworld. They would just be part of a routine update. My guess is that the boldly go part has to do with gigawire or digital lifestyle appliances. I can see it now "and so those are the new iMacs and iBooks, oh and one more thing....."
