Changing Icons by dragging?

Why can't I change icons for a file just by dragging an icon from one info window to another? It is inconsistent with how the rest of the OS X user interface works, I think.

I don't know... I agree, that seems logical.

You do know you can Cmd+C an icon in the "Get Info" window and Cmd+V it over the icon you want to replace, right?

Yes, I know that now, but that is one of the few things I wasn't able to figure out myself on OS X.
