So I've had my 3G iPad since Christmas and never used it with the 3G service. I had an appointment today in which I would be in a waiting room for several hours and knew they didn't have Wifi. So I figured now would be a good time to try the service, then I could watch a Netflix movie or Slingbox my Tivo shows. I picked the $25 2GB option and off I went. To my frustration the 3G connection was terrible at my appointment location, only 1 bar. Couldn't get Slingbox to work, Netflix was slow to load and then wold cut out. Other Internet apps like Maps didn't load and couldn't show my GPS location. Talk about a complete waste of my $25!

Later on as I was in another part of town, I got a stronger connection and everything seemed fine. I'm still angry though, because what's the point of paying for 3G service if the majority of places around town give me a terrible signal? So not happy right now!

UPDATE: Called AT&T to complain about the terrible iPad 3G connection and requested my $25 back. I explained that I only used the service not 10 minutes and didn't like how slow it was. First they said I would have to contact my credit card company for a refund, as AT&T can't issue them. I was like.....how is this account any different than my cell phone plan? Are you freaking kidding me! I requested several times to speak to a supervisor and finally they said if I cancelled my service now and didn't activate it for 60 days then AT&T would send me a $25 check. So basically I have to pay the $25 to my credit card company and 2 months later AT&T will get around to giving me my money back. Makes you wonder how much interest AT&T is earning on customers money by doing this throughout the entire country.

WTF is wrong with this company?!

So after stewing over this for the last few days I decided to call AT&T again, because having to wait 60 days for my $25 is just to long.

I spoke with a good rep that completely understood my point of view and connected me to their iPad account specialist. This rep said having me wait 60 days for a refund was not right and he immediately processed a refund to my credit card. I should see it no later than 8 days on my account.

Thank you Howie Goreman! And while this doesn't make up for AT&T's terrible 3G coverage in my town, it's nice to know that not everyone working there are idiots.

Still haven't received my $25 back from AT&T. I really hate a company who's employees flat out lie to it's customers!

Called AT&T back today and of course they have no record of my issue, nor did they no how to contact Howie Goreman. They even said he might work for Apple. I insisted he works at AT&T and that I was not transferred to an Apple rep.

The only thing this rep could do for me was give a $40 credit on my cell phone account. I reluctantly accepted it but complained.

I am so frustrated and unhappy with AT&T!
