Hi,

Does anyone know a bit of web design software which is free to use (or a trial)?

Thank You

Kind Regards

Macromedia (http://www.macromedia.com) Dreamweaver is the industry standard and is available as a 30-day free trial. Good software too - not too hard to get into.

The Mozilla Suite (http://mozilla.org/products/mozilla1.x/) has a built-in editor, which isn't to bad. I recommend a plain text editor, though, much better control over your code. TextWrangler (http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/productivity_tools/textwrangler.html) is now free for non-commercial use...

If you want a plain-text editor driven for web design, BBEdit (http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/productivity_tools/bbedit.html) is a good choice. I have TextWrangler, and I find it very useful for general text manipulation; BBEdit has some additional features geared to Web development. I should probably download the BBEdit demo too and try it out...maybe I'll even buy it.

I know BBEdit is better than TextWrangler, which is more like good old BBEdit Lite, but as TextWrangler is free and BBEdit costs $199, I prefer TextWrangler... BBEdit is just too expensive... :( Which is kind of sad, because it really doesn't suck.® :p
