4.3 gives you the choice of what to use the hardware switch for, mute or rotation lock. Great but

BEFORE you change the function from mute back to rotation make sure it's set to unmute, or you will find you don't get audio with your apps. The previous state of the mute function persists, even after a reboot.

It caught me out, so heads up to folk who are maybe as daft as me!:)

When the hardware switch is set to rotation lock, you can mute/unmute by double-tapping home to bring up the multi-task tray, then swipe the tray to bring up the volume and brightness controls, and hit the button on the far left.

Yep, makes sense now that it swaps the functions of the hardware switch and the swipe software switch. Never thought to check that, thanks. Clever these Apple guys,they think of most things;)
