I tried to slam my macbook pro down and assume it'd go to sleep. When I got to school, I found out that the screen didn't get to sleep at all and it drained my batter down (for about 2 hours).
Is it just me or this is a bug from Lion?
Is there anyway we can fix this?

You should report Lion bugs to Apple. Lion is a developer preview.

are you booting Lion off USB or the optical bay? I had this problem on my machine till I installed it to the 'proper' drive

It may or may not be a Lion issue:

So nobody gets this problem when slamming down the lid? Mine still runs when closed. It's so annoying if I have to bring my MBP outside my house remembering I have to shut it down first.

Disable the internet sharing in System Preferences and it should work
